Our services.

  • Child and Adolescent Therapy

Life can feel unexpected and messy. Kids learn about themselves through play and their senses. We utilize a range of therapeutic techniques to support kids. We also utilize our therapy dog in sessions with kids should you choose to have her join.

  • Social Coaching and Groups

Supporting kids to build connections with each other is essential to District Kids. We offer groups for kids and adolescents, helping them to build effective communication skills that help them connect with other peers. Led by former educators and our licensed independent clinical social workers we blend expertise in social coaching and skill building to help kids grow.

  • Parenting Support

From birth through adolescence we all need a community to count on. Parenting support is provided virtually and run by our licensed clinical social worker and/or Director of Teaching and Learning Practice. We think holistically about the challeges that are coming up and work with you to co-create a plan to support you and your family.

Structured Literacy Intervention/Assessment and School Support

When working with children and adolescents, it is essential to understand the interplay between academics and social emotional well-being.

Structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham) intervention is the gold standard for the treatment of language–based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. The structured literacy approach, based on the extensive science of reading research, utilizes explicit and systematic instruction in both foundational (phonology and spelling) and more complex (comprehension and writing) skills to support a child’s literacy growth.
